EDITORIAL STANDARDS

How we create & review our recipes

Last updated: June 8, 2026

RecipeGenie is transparent about how it works: we combine modern AI with human editorial judgment. This page explains exactly how our content is made, who stands behind it, and how we handle accuracy — so you always know what you are reading and can trust it.

Who is behind RecipeGenie

Rishi Mohan

Rishi MohanFounder & Editor

RecipeGenie is built and edited by Rishi Mohan, a home-bartending and food enthusiast who started the site to cut through ad-stuffed recipe blogs and make genuinely useful, shareable recipes free for everyone. Rishi Mohan writes and reviews the editorial guides, curates the Weekly Drop newsletter, and sets the standards the AI generator is held to.

Our content process

AI does the first draft

Our recipe generator uses large language models to turn the ingredients you enter into a structured recipe — ingredients, steps, pro tips, pairings, and an estimated nutrition profile. The AI-generated food photography is created the same way. We label this content clearly as AI-assisted.

Humans set the rules and review the editorial

Every guide and newsletter issue on RecipeGenie is written and edited by a human. Our long-form content is not auto-generated. For the generator itself, the editor defines the prompts, quality bar, and safety rules — including allergen, alcohol, and nutrition disclaimers — that every generated recipe must follow.

We fact-check the reference content

Our comparison and reference guides (caffeine levels, espresso vs coffee, ingredient glossaries, and so on) are checked against reputable sources and reflect widely accepted information at the time of writing. Where figures vary, we say so rather than inventing false precision.

We tell you what is estimated

Nutrition numbers are AI-estimated and approximate, and we say that everywhere they appear. Recipes are inspiration, not medical or dietary advice. We never pretend an estimate is a lab measurement.

Accuracy & corrections

We want our content to be right. If you spot an error in a guide, a recipe, or a nutrition figure — or anything that seems unsafe — please tell us and we will review and correct it promptly. Send corrections to rmohan616@gmail.com with a link to the page.

Editorial independence

Our recommendations are our own. When we mention a specific brand or product in a guide, it is because we think it is genuinely useful — not because we were paid to. If that ever changes for a given piece, we will disclose it on that page.
